Afghanistan Kyokushin-kan Karate-do Organization

 

Born in 1980, Herat City, Afghanistan, Azadani sensei started practicing Kyokushin Karate at the age of 12. He opened his Kyokushin Karate school in Herat City in 1998. Since then not only has he produced Asian Champions and World Ranking fighters, but also he has delivered many successful Kyokushin Karate instructors and dojo operators to the family of Afghanistan Kyokushin Karate.

In Jan, 2006 - having been appointed as the Branch Chief of Kyokushin-kan International Karate-do Organization by Kancho Hatsuo Royama in Afghanistan, he founded Kyokushin-kan's Afghanistan Branch.

Attending the 2008 International Instructors' Training Seminar in Fukushima Japan, he successfully passed his Yondan (4th Degree) Black Belt test under the supervision of Kancho (Chairman) Hatsuo Royama. He is currently the highest official rank holder of black belts in Afghanistan authorized by Japan Honbu.

In addition, he has contributed to Kyokushin Karate by participating as a judge & referee in many International and World Kyokushin Karate tournaments.

He is proud to have been awarded Afghanistan National Governmental Medal (Qazi Mir Bacha Khan Medal) in July 2003 by late, great, and much missed Mohammad Zahir Shah Khan, the last King of Afghanistan; and President Hamed Karzai due to his achievements and martial arts development efforts in Afghanistan.

Besides his Karate life, he is a construction management professional and holds a Master of Science degree in Construction Management & Civil Engineering from New York University. In addition, he holds his Project Management Professional (PMP) credential certificate from Project Management Institute.

His leadership skills and Kyokushin Karate knowledge has resulted not only a strong, competent, and competitive team in international and world tournaments, but also a strong and united Kyokushin Karate family in Afghanistan.

Sensei Qahar Azadani's Kyokushin Karate Bio-data:

  • Born in 1982, Herat City, Herat - Afghanistan

  • Started Kyokushin Karate at the age of 16. He is one of the first students of his older brother, sensei Azadani, who joined Azadani's dojo.

  • Jan, 2006 - He founded Kyokushin-kan Afghanistan Branch together with Azadani sensei.

  • May, 2006 - He was appointed as the Chief Instructor of Afghanistan Central Dojo (Honbu) by Azadani sensei.

  • 2004 & 2005 - he won two International Kyokushin Karate Championships, held in Iran.

  • August, 2007 - He successfully passed his Sandan (3rd Degree) Black Belt test under Azadani sensei.

  • Nov, 2007 - He got the 2nd place of 1st SARC Open Knockdown Karate Tournament, held in India.

  •  March, 2010 - As the trainer of national team and the chief instructor of Central Dojo, he made All Asia Champion and first runners up (2nd place finishers) in the 1st All Asia Open Kyokushin-kan Karate Championships. In this tournament, not only Afghanistan fighters were the finalists of light weight category, but also the first runner up in heavy weight category. This history made achievement is the biggest achievement in Afghanistan Karate history to be accomplished in Asian tournaments.

  • July, 2010 - He was appointed as the Branch Chief of Kyokushin-kan International Karate-do Organization in Afghanistan.

Achievements of Afghanistan team from international tournaments since founding Kyokushin-kan Afghanistan:

  • Champion of the 1st All Asia Open Kyokushin-kan Karate Championships, March - 2010, Malaysia, among 21 Countries including Russia and Japan (1st and 2nd places in 65 Kg division and 2nd place in 80 Kg division).

  • 5th place in All Kyokushin Karate World Tournament, October - 2009, Hungary. Afghanistan is ranked among the best eight countries in 80 Kg male division in the World..

  • Successful participation of Afghanistan in the 2nd Kyokushin-kan European Championships - September, 2008, Moscow.

  • First runner up (Second place) in the first SARC Open Knockdown Karate Tournament, November, 2007, India - hosted by Ravi sensei - India branch.

  • 3rd and 4th places in 2007 International Kyokushin Karate Open Weight Championships, Pakistan, hosted by Shihan A. Ghaffar Khan, Pakistan Kyokushinkaikan President.
